French player specializing in micronutrition and natural health, Olyos has just acquired the Chilean company Newscience. A major move that will allow the group to strengthen its presence in Latin America. Experts from AURIS Finance, a consulting firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, provide their analysis.

In France, it is the fifth-largest dietary supplement laboratory. Founded in 1948 around Laboratoire des Granions, Olyos now employs 600 people and generates €160 million in revenue, driven by sustained growth in pharmacy and parapharmacy sales.

Accelerated Growth

Until 2023, the group operated under the EA Pharma banner. In 2023, the acquisition of W Group, a U.S. dietary supplement player, was accompanied by the creation of a global structure named Olyos. This new entity is designed to unite all the group’s brands and accelerate its international development.

New Strategic Direction

This acceleration is supported by a three-pronged strategic plan: strengthening partnerships with pharmacists, an ambitious innovation policy, and the development of e-commerce in Europe and Asia. This growth strategy relies on a series of targeted acquisitions: Labcatal in France (2020), Drasanvi in Spain (2021), Stardea in Italy (2022), and W Group in the United States.

Targeted Acquisitions

Now present in around sixty countries, Olyos continues its offensive acquisition strategy. On December 18, 2025, the group formalized the acquisition of Newscience, a Chilean company specializing in dietary supplements, with a presence in Ecuador and across the Latin American market.

Strategic Move

In Latin America, the probiotics and omega-3 market shows favorable dynamics, with annual growth rates above the global market average. Newscience, with revenue of €20 million, stands out for its premium positioning among healthcare professionals, with product lines distributed in pharmacies and recommended by doctors.

Local Anchoring and New Synergies

With this acquisition, Olyos strengthens its presence in Latin America and gains a strategic foothold. The pooling of technical expertise and the financial strength of the Olyos group should allow the new entity to accelerate innovations targeting local needs while leveraging e-commerce and digital know-how acquired through previous acquisitions.

High-Growth Market

The global dietary supplement market is estimated at over $180 billion in 2024 and is expected to maintain annual growth between 5% and 6% through 2030. This trend is driven by several underlying factors: population aging, increased focus on health prevention, e-commerce development, and the personalization of nutritional solutions.

A Reference Player

In this context, Olyos’s ability to quickly integrate new brands and deploy them across multiple distribution channels constitutes a real competitive advantage. By combining innovation, medical recommendation, and strengthened pharmacy presence, the group positions itself as a reference player.
