Following its placement in receivership in 2024, the Bonneveine Clinic was experiencing significant financial challenges that threatened the viability of local healthcare provision in the Marseille area. The Foundation’s eighth association
The Fondation Hôpital Saint Joseph is pursuing its strategic plan to roll out a comprehensive healthcare pathway, with a particular focus on the elderly and vulnerable. The Foundation now oversees eight establishments: Saint Joseph-Séniors, which manages 8 nursing homes with a total capacity of 553 beds; the 90-bed Sainte Marthe – Saint Joseph psychiatric clinic; the Saint Joseph AFOR accommodation and social rehabilitation centre in Marseille; and the IFSI Saint Jacques, located in Marseille’s northern suburbs; ABCD Saint Joseph, an association managing a home care service; and Sésame Simulation, a healthcare simulation training association for medical and nursing staff in public and private healthcare establishments.
Development plans
The clinic will benefit from a strategic partnership with the seven associations linked to the Fondation Hôpital Saint Joseph, while retaining its management autonomy and its own medical project, the group said. The Foundation is committed to relaunching the clinic’s projects, in particular the installation of a scanner (subject to authorisation from the Agence Régionale de Santé), the maintenance and development of local services in the southern districts of Marseille, and the strengthening of projects for people with disabilities. This strategic initiative forms part of a broader plan to expand the range of care services offered by the Fondation Hôpital Saint Joseph, which is already well-established in the region. The integration of the Bonneveine Clinic will further strengthen the Foundation’s position in the private not-for-profit hospital sector.
