Founded in 1976, Pêcheurs de Saveurs is a company specialised in the production of fresh and frozen starters and appetizers based on seafood products. Pêcheurs de Saveurs is located in Saint-Hernin in Finistère and had been part of NICOT’s group since 2013.
Originally specialised in cooked scallops, Pêcheur de Saveurs diversified its production with tapas and spreads using additive-free and natural products distinguished by a high level of quality. Thus, in 2021, Pêcheur de Saveurs generated a €11 million turnover with 565 tons of branded products mainly sold through large retailers, but also to the catering industry and the export market.
Since its foundation, Guyader Gastronomie has become a major firm in its four core business activities: cold meats (core activity), smoked fish, catering and vegetable products. Guyader Gastronomie employs 490 people and achieved a €89 million turnover in 2021.
According to Christian GUYADER, Guyader Gastronomie’s chairman, this acquisition is a significant step forward and will strengthen its company’s presence in the ultra-fresh seafood industry thanks to the new production site:
“Located just a few kilometres from our logistics platform, the Saint-Hernin food processing plant will become the ultra-fresh asset that we were lacking for our seafood fresh deli products. It is also the acquisition of an expertise and a well-known brand in this sector. Finally, the 1,000 m² food processing factory and Pêcheur de Saveurs’ expertise will meet consumers’ expectations in new appetizers solutions”.
In the meantime, Julie NICOT, Pêcheur de Saveurs’ CEO, emphasises the relevance and consistency of this merger:
“We are delighted of this merger with Guyader, which will enable our family business to keep thriving. The family spirit and the managers’ commitment in selling quality products while respecting a traditional know-how are perfectly in line with the DNA of our company and pave the way for a bright future for our employees and our customers”.
