LA FAMEUSE FABRIQUE, founded by Mathieu DAUPLEIX, is a craft brewery based in Gaillac, Tarn (Occitanie), since 2017. It produces high-quality organic beers and sodas for bars and cafés under the La Berlue brand, available in bottles and kegs, and for large retailers with its Kézako brand. The brewery is also highly active in regional festivals and cultural events. With multiple awards from international competitions such as the World Beer Awards, Lyon, Frankfurt, and Millésime Bio, LA FAMEUSE FABRIQUE benefits from state-of-the-art production facilities.
NEWBEERS, a group of craft breweries led by Mélusine Brewery and its founder Laurent BOITEAU, has grown through external acquisitions, successively taking over Brasserie Parisis and Brasserie Saint Germain. The group continues its mission to promote high-quality craft beers and offer a wide range of beers brewed in Vendée, Île-de-France, and Pas-de-Calais. In 2020, Laurent BOITEAU established the NEWBEERS group by pooling the commercial strengths of the three entities and sharing their expertise.
NEWBEERS is expanding in the high-potential craft beer market across retail chains, cafés, hotels, restaurants, and festivals. Mélusine is a longstanding partner of the “Hellfest” rock music festival and, as of 2024, the official beer supplier for historical theme park Puy du Fou. The brewery was awarded five medals at the 2024 Concours Général Agricole.
A shared vision: craft beer production and local consumption
To further his ambition of expanding across France, Laurent BOITEAU pursued another external growth operation by acquiring a majority stake in LA FAMEUSE FABRIQUE, with Mathieu DAUPLEIX remaining at the helm of the brewery as a minority shareholder.
“We are proud to have facilitated the strategic merger between La Fameuse Fabrique and NEWBEERS. We extend our best wishes to the teams in this new phase, particularly with the numerous product and commercial synergies that will arise from this partnership.” commented Marc-Olivier Bernard, Food and Beverage Expert at AURIS Finance
Mathieu DAUPLEIX, Founder of LA FAMEUSE FABRIQUE, shared:
“LA FAMEUSE FABRIQUE has experienced rapid growth since its creation in 2021. Given the current economic uncertainties, it was essential to find strategic alliances to ensure sustainable development. The merger with NEWBEERS was an obvious choice: we share the same vision for craft beer, the same values when it comes to employees, suppliers, and customers, and the same desire to highlight our respective regions. This allows us to grow stronger while preserving our independence and artisanal DNA. This initiative would not have been possible without the support of AURIS Finance, whose sector-specific expertise and recognized know-how in mergers and acquisitions were invaluable.”
Laurent BOITEAU, President of the NEWBEERS Group, added:
“Building on our experience and the success of Mélusine Brewery in its region, we are convinced that the future lies in better and more local consumption. In 2020, we decided to bring together craft breweries from various French regions under the NEWBEERS project. Five years later, we now have four breweries in Pays de la Loire (Mélusine), Île-de-France (Parisis), Hauts-de-France (Page24), and now the South-West (La Fameuse Fabrique). Each brewery produces locally for local consumption in a market largely dominated by international brewers. Our ambition is to become a true local alternative in each of our regions, an ambition that is perfectly understood and shared by Mathieu DAUPLEIX and AURIS Finance, who have guided us through the acquisition of LA FAMEUSE FABRIQUE.”
AURIS Finance acted as the exclusive advisor to LA FAMEUSE FABRIQUE.
