Septeo acquires Backyou and completes its software value chain in Hospitality

Septeo acquiert Backyou et complète sa chaîne de valeur logicielle dans l'Hospitality

The Septeo group has announced two acquisitions in quick succession within its Hospitality division, in the space of a single week. Following Backyou, a MICE sales and management platform operating in 32 countries, the group has announced the acquisition of Adresio, a French publisher of management software for student housing.

Together, these two transactions complete Septeo Hospitality’s software value chain in segments that had until now been insufficiently covered.

Analysis by the experts at Auris Finance, an M&A and financial engineering advisory firm.

Founded in Lattes, Septeo has established itself as a European publisher of business software that embeds artificial intelligence in the service of regulated professions. The group supports more than 400,000 professionals in sectors such as law, accountancy, real estate, human resources, hospitality and education, and employs more than 3,600 people. It invests more than €100 million each year in research and development, a large share of which is devoted to artificial intelligence. Its Hospitality division, formed in 2023 following the acquisition of Sequoiasoft, now serves more than 10,000 clients across Europe, including hotels, campsites, holiday villages, serviced tourist residences, student housing and senior living residences.

Backyou, the missing link in MICE

Announced on 8 September 2026, the acquisition of Backyou brings Septeo Hospitality the sales and management of groups, seminars and events, a segment previously absent from its software value chain. Based in Mâcon, the company has thirteen years’ experience and serves more than 2,000 properties across 32 countries. It generates 17% of its business internationally and has posted revenue growth of more than 100% since January 2025.

Its team of around thirty employees joins the Septeo Hospitality division, and its chief executive, Antoine de Corson, retains leadership of the company while taking charge of the division’s MICE offering. Septeo has chosen to preserve the platform’s open model, which will continue to be sold to all hospitality professionals, including those who do not use the group’s software.

Adresio, a tie-up for student housing

A week later, on 15 September 2026, Septeo announced the acquisition of Adresio, a publisher that has specialised for more than twenty years in management software for student housing. Combined with Resalys, the centralised booking solution already deployed by the group for multi-site operators, this acquisition means Septeo Hospitality now equips more than 150 residences and 30,000 student accommodation units across France and Europe.

Adresio brings in-depth expertise in the administrative, tenancy, accounting and regulatory processes specific to medium- and long-stay accommodation. This know-how will enrich the roadmap for Resalys, which for its part covers centralised inventory, multi-brand and multi-country management, and consolidated performance monitoring. As with Backyou, continuity of service and the sector expertise of the Adresio teams are being preserved, while its clients will gradually gain access to the technological capabilities of the Septeo Hospitality ecosystem, notably in payments, business intelligence, automation and artificial intelligence.

A segment-by-segment consolidation strategy

Both transactions reflect the same logic: completing, segment by segment, a software value chain that already covered distribution, booking, revenue management, customer relationship management, payments and performance analysis. This has been built through a series of targeted acquisitions, including Cool’n Camp, Witbooking, RevControl Data, Misterbooking and Aquao.

With Backyou, Septeo adds the sales and management of groups and events. With Adresio, the group strengthens its position in the European student housing market, driven by growing student mobility, the internationalisation of university pathways and a structural shortage of suitable accommodation. In both cases, the deal reflects a logic of vertical integration rather than simple geographical expansion, with the group seeking to offer broader functional coverage within a single software ecosystem.

This momentum illustrates a wider trend in the hospitality software sector, where publishers are seeking to consolidate complete value chains rather than confining themselves to a single link in the customer journey. For mid-sized companies such as Backyou and Adresio, backing from a group with European reach and substantial investment capacity in research and development acts as a growth accelerator, while allowing them to retain their business model and operational autonomy.
