Inherent, a specialist in business information systems, is strengthening its position in the Paris region. The company has just announced the acquisition of Everlink, a B2B telecommunications operator and IT solutions integrator. At the same time, Inherent has acquired Systonic, a Bordeaux-based sovereign cloud expert. AURIS Finance, a consultancy specialising in mergers and acquisitions, interprets these new market moves.
Since its establishment in 2014, Everlink has provided telecommunications, cloud and IT services to a customer base primarily comprising SMEs in the Paris region. The group works with 500 corporate clients from various sectors, including luxury goods, real estate, insurance, distribution, and consultancy. It provides services in six key areas: internet connection, IT networks, telecommunications, hosting, facilities management, and cybersecurity.
Everlink has now joined Inherent, a telecommunications giant which provides a comprehensive range of services, including telecommunications, IT and cybersecurity, to around 50,000 businesses and local authorities in France. Inherent’s offering is built around four operating brands (Adista, Unyc, Devensys and Upper-Link), and the company had a turnover of €300 million in 2024. It is supported by 1,300 employees working in 40 branches.
France’s fourth-largest telecommunications provider
Although the Inherent brand is not widely known, the group is now close behind the three giants of the sector: Orange, SFR and Bouygues Telecom. Inherent is currently the fourth-largest provider for business customers in France. The group’s distinctive feature is its dual focus on telecommunications and IT services, enabling it to address all the issues facing SMEs. “Studies estimate potential sales of between €40 and €50 billion in the French market. With our €300 million turnover, we have plenty of room to increase our market share”, explained Group Chairman Pierre-Jean Beylier in 2024.
An aggressive inorganic growth strategy
Since being backed by the Keensight Capital investment fund in 2021, Inherent has embarked on an aggressive inorganic growth strategy. In 2023, the group acquired IT Equadex, a specialist in IT solutions. The following year, it intensified its approach with targeted acquisitions of companies with strong market positions. In 2024, Connect Services, based in Tours, joined Inherent, followed by Prodware’s private cloud business. The group then acquired Upper-Lynk, a Paris-based company specialising in digital transformation.
Rapid growth
By mid-2025, Inherent had already secured three new deals: Conexio Telecom, Devensys Cybersecurity — a recognised cybersecurity specialist for professionals — and Everlink. Just a few weeks later, Inherent acquired Systonic, a data centre hosting specialist based in Bordeaux and operated in France. In two and a half years, the group has completed seven major acquisitions. It is now aiming to achieve a turnover of €500 million by 2027.
