PG Group strengthens its industrial electrical capabilities through the acquisition of Electric Motor

Groupe PG - Electric Motor

A new wave of consolidation is underway in French industry. PG Group, a Seine-Maritime-based company specialising in precision machining and industrial sheet metal work, has acquired Electric Motor, a firm renowned for its expertise in industrial electrical systems and automation.

This highly strategic transaction will enable PG Group to offer a fully integrated service portfolio. The acquisition forms part of a broader external growth strategy designed to support industrial clients with increasingly comprehensive solutions.

Experts from AURIS Finance, a corporate finance advisory firm specialising in mergers and acquisitions, provide insight into this market move.

A strategic acquisition marking a new milestone

Electric Motor is now under the control of PG Group, an industrial player based in Rouxmesnil-Bouteilles, near Dieppe. This transaction marks a significant milestone in the development strategy of the Normandy-based group.

Through this acquisition, PG aims to strengthen its position across the industrial value chain. The integration of Electric Motor allows the group to expand its service offering by combining complementary areas of expertise: precision machining, industrial sheet metal work, assembly, mechanical integration, and now industrial electrical engineering and automation.

This move enables PG Group to provide its industrial clients with end-to-end solutions, from design through to full-scale industrialisation of equipment.

An established industrial player

Founded over thirty-five years ago, PG Group has developed through several specialised subsidiaries, each addressing a key stage in the industrial production chain.

  • Usinage Dieppois specialises in precision mechanical subcontracting. The entity produces small and medium series of mechanical parts across a wide range of materials and also masters industrial 3D printing technologies. It operates a dedicated department for engineering studies and industrialisation.
  • Gault Industries focuses on sheet metal transformation. Its teams carry out laser cutting, welding and CNC bending operations, supported by a design office delivering bespoke components.
  • ADSI is the group’s entity dedicated to industrial assembly and laser marking, operating in environments requiring controlled and clean assembly conditions.

All subsidiaries are coordinated by the holding company PG Développement, which oversees the group’s industrial strategy.

A comprehensive industrial platform

With this structure, PG Group now benefits from a substantial industrial footprint. The company operates five production sites, employs more than 150 people and runs two design offices. It is supported by a fleet of over fifty industrial machines.

Its client base includes leading French and international industrial groups across sectors such as electronics, rail, automotive, medical devices and aerospace. For broader context on trends shaping advanced manufacturing and automation, see this overview from McKinsey.

Additionally, insights from Deloitte highlight how integrated industrial capabilities are becoming a key competitive differentiator.

A complementary area of expertise

By integrating Electric Motor, PG Group further enhances its offering. Specialising in industrial electrical engineering and automation, the company brings critical capabilities in the design and integration of electrical systems for industrial equipment.

Sylvain Cadinot, Managing Director of Electric Motor, will remain in his role. He will be responsible for ensuring operational continuity and preserving the technical expertise developed by the company’s teams.

Management continuity is often a key success factor in external growth transactions carried out by industrial SMEs.

The importance of external growth

PG Group’s growth strategy reflects a broader trend within the industrial sector: clients increasingly seek partners capable of delivering fully integrated solutions rather than fragmented services. This enables them to entrust entire projects to a single provider.

By incorporating Electric Motor’s capabilities, PG strengthens its ability to deliver complex industrial projects requiring a high level of technical integration.
