Mecadaq, a specialist in machining complex mechanical parts for aerospace and defense, has recently acquired two companies in the sector key step in the group’s consolidation and external growth strategy.
Explanations and analysis by AURIS Finance, a consulting firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions.
On January 22, 2026, Mecadaq announced the acquisition of two companies complementary to its activity. Echeverria (64) is a group specializing in aircraft seats and cabins, while Lopez is a family-owned business specialized in helicopter engine maintenance (helicopter MRO).
Focus on Mecadaq
Based in Tarnos, in the Landes region, Mecadaq has established itself over fifty years as a reference player in precision engineering for major clients in civil and defense aerospace. The group specializes in machining high value-added complex mechanical parts (gear cutting, 4- and 5-axis milling) for clients such as Airbus, Safran, Boeing, Dassault, and Latécoère. The family-owned company, which generated €60 million in revenue in 2024, aims to rapidly double in size.
High precision
The group operates around 130 CNC machines across multiple industrial sites in France and one in the United States, employing 350 people. Its industrial capacity allows it to support clients on demanding programs, such as providing passenger door handles for the Boeing 787.
Aggressive development plan
The acquisitions of Lopez and Echeverria are part of an aggressive development plan for Mecadaq, based on an external growth strategy. These two acquisitions mark the fourth and fifth for the group since July 2025, when Capza became the majority investor. Capza, a European private investment platform (private equity and private debt), manages several investment funds dedicated to mid-sized companies. With Capza’s support, Mecadaq now aims to become a leading aerospace player in Europe and the United States, targeting revenue of over €150 million by 2030.
High added value
Integrating Echeverria provides Mecadaq with a new growth lever in the aircraft seat and cabin interior segment. Based in Hendaye (Basque Country), Echeverria specializes in precision machining and assembly of pilot seat structures, cabin frameworks, and high-end comfort equipment. Its clients include companies such as Airbus Atlantic. The group had suffered a major setback in 2021 with Dassault, one of its historic clients, leaving.
Center of excellence
This acquisition allows Mecadaq to move up the value chain, adding niche expertise directly visible to airlines and passengers, in the context of premiumizing aircraft interiors.
Meanwhile, acquiring Lopez strengthens Mecadaq’s presence in the highly specialized market of helicopter engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (helicopter MRO).
With Capza’s backing, the group plans to continue consolidating a fragmented sector by building centers of excellence around its historic expertise.
