Auris Finance advises Océaniques on its sale to Le Grand Lejon

Océaniques, a company specialised in the production and marketing of seafood products, has completed its sale to Le Grand Lejon, a subsidiary of the Gendreau Group. The deal brings together two players from the food industry around an integrated seafood business.

Advised by Auris Finance as exclusive advisor to the seller, Océaniques is entering a new stage of development within a larger industrial group.

Océaniques: a Breton family business rooted in seafood tradition

Founded in 1994 by Freddie Follezou and based in Carhaix, in central Brittany, Océaniques is a family-owned company specialised in the production of seafood products, including fish-based dishes and prepared vegetable products. It has built solid industrial know-how, while remaining firmly anchored in Breton culinary tradition and in its home region.

Océaniques sells its products exclusively to the foodservice industry, in France and occasionally across Europe.

“This deal allows us to join a strong and lasting industrial group while securing the future development of the company. Auris Finance was instrumental, through the quality of their approach, their responsiveness and their ability to structure the entire sale process.” Freddie Follezou

Le Grand Lejon (Gendreau Group): an established player in the seafood industry

Le Grand Lejon is a subsidiary of the Gendreau Group, an industrial player in the seafood industry active in the processing and marketing of food products from the sea. Founded in 1953 in Binic, Le Grand Lejon joined the Gendreau Group in 2015. The group has strong historical roots in the maritime regions of western France, at the heart of traditional fishing and processing areas, particularly in Brittany. This proximity to landing and processing sites is a cornerstone of its industrial development.

Its business is part of an industry historically organised around the catching and processing of species such as capelin, cod and herring, traditionally handled in the ports along the Atlantic and Channel coasts.

This deal is part of the Gendreau Group’s strategy to strengthen its position in the seafood industry, consolidate its industrial capacity and continue integrating its processing activities.
