SPIE acquires Artemys and accelerates consolidation in digital services

Spie acquiert Artemys et accélère la consolidation des services numériques

In a strained French digital market, SPIE has completed a new strategic move. Through its subsidiary SPIE ICS, the European leader in multi-technical services has finalized the acquisition of Artemys, strengthening its positioning across cloud, data, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

This transaction illustrates a methodical buy-and-build strategy deployed by a listed group on Euronext Paris, in a sector where scale and service complementarity have become decisive competitive advantages.

Insights and analysis by the experts at AURIS Finance, an M&A and financial advisory firm.

SPIE is the independent European leader in multi-technical services for energy and communications. With 55,000 employees, the group supports its clients in driving the energy, digital, and industrial transitions. In 2025, it reported consolidated revenue of €10.4 billion.

The group has been executing for several years a targeted acquisition strategy in highly fragmented markets offering a strong pipeline of so-called “bolt-on” opportunities. In 2025 alone, SPIE completed five acquisitions representing a combined €133 million in annual revenue, with the aim of strengthening local positions, expanding its ICS offerings, and increasing exposure to recurring services.

An acquisition driven by a leading position strategy

The integration of Artemys into SPIE ICS follows this consolidation logic.

Artemys has a strong presence in Normandy and the Paris region, with recognized expertise in the banking, financial services, and luxury sectors.
Its integration enables SPIE ICS to significantly expand its technical assistance offering, deploying a broad range of profiles tailored to client needs: technicians, consultants, project managers, and expert engineers across cloud infrastructure, application development, data, cybersecurity, and end-user services.

In data and artificial intelligence, both companies bring complementary approaches: SPIE ICS deploys its AI Hub, a secure generative AI platform developed in-house, while Artemys integrates AI closer to clients’ business processes and applications. Both entities also combine expertise in cloud transformation and migration projects, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem.

As Delphine Ferrier, CEO of SPIE ICS, stated:
“Our ambition is to continue growing in a rapidly evolving digital market. Beyond the complementarity of our offerings, we aim, alongside Artemys, to remain at the forefront of technology and establish ourselves as a long-term trusted partner for our clients.”

A digital services market undergoing structural change

This transaction takes place in a French digital sector undergoing deep transformation. After a mixed 2025, the market is showing signs of recovery, driven by generative AI and sovereignty concerns.

The French digital services market reached €72.2 billion in 2025, with limited growth of 2%. IT services companies declined by 1.8%, while software publishers and platforms grew by 8.2%.
Industry association Numeum expects growth to accelerate to 4.3% in 2026, with IT services returning to growth at 1.4%, reaching €35 billion, driven notably by renewed investment in banking and industrial sectors.
In this environment of expected recovery combined with margin pressure, consolidation strategies are gaining full relevance. Generative AI has become a major productivity driver: nearly one in two companies is now developing generative AI projects for its clients, up from 29% at the end of 2024.

In this context, players capable of delivering an integrated offering spanning infrastructure, applications, data, and cybersecurity hold a clear competitive advantage.

Cybersecurity and cloud as strategic pillars

SPIE ICS operates a cybersecurity offering covering the full information system security lifecycle, including a Security Operations Center (SOC) run 24/7 from Grenoble by in-house analysts. The company also relies on a nationwide network of 60 agencies across France to ensure rapid on-site intervention.

The addition of Artemys, with its expertise in cloud migration and application development, further strengthens this offering and expands the client base in higher-value segments.

At a global level, these dynamics reflect a broader trend. The global digital transformation market is estimated at $1.65 trillion in 2025 and is expected to reach $4.46 trillion by 2030, growing at nearly 22% annually, driven by enterprise AI adoption, cloud-first strategies, and regulatory mandates accelerating digitalization.
