The French medtech company, founded in 2023, continues its rapid development. In just a few months, CardiaMetrics has successfully raised over €2 million to fund its remote monitoring implant for heart failure patients. Experts from AURIS Finance, a consulting firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, analyze this new market trend.
Innovation in Heart Failure Management
CardiaMetrics stands out in the fight against heart failure. The startup has developed a subcutaneous sensor that continuously collects physiological signals. The data, analyzed by AI-powered algorithms, is automatically transmitted to a telemonitoring platform, enabling cardiologists to adjust treatment before severe symptoms appear and thus prevent patient hospitalization.
Collaboration with University Hospitals
The startup has grown in close collaboration with academic hospitals. Its origins lie with a core team of cardiologists and engineers focused on remote hemodynamic monitoring for heart failure patients. Following the launch of its first clinical trial at Caen University Hospital (CHU) and the establishment of a medical advisory board, the company plans to expand its solution, initially targeting hospital centers (university hospitals and cardiology clinics). In the long term, CardiaMetrics will also reach out to private cardiology practices looking to integrate telemonitoring into patient care pathways.
Securing Funding
To support its growth, CardiaMetrics has completed several funding rounds. The first, a seed round of €300,000, was raised from private investors and cardiologists. In the summer of 2025, the startup closed an initial tranche of €1.25 million, followed by an additional €1 million to advance its clinical and industrial development. Funding sources include historical investors, employees, founders, health and data-focused business angels, as well as convertible loans and bonds provided by Bpifrance, Crédit Mutuel, and the Réseau Entreprendre Isère.
A Growing Market
Heart failure is a serious and costly condition, driving frequent hospitalizations. In France, it is the leading cause of hospitalization for individuals over 65, resulting in more than 70,000 deaths annually. Currently, fewer than 25,000 patients benefit from dedicated remote monitoring and therapeutic support. In this context, telemonitoring solutions like CardiaMetrics’ implant address a critical need for early intervention to prevent hospitalizations.
Resilience in Biotech and Medtech
Despite an increasingly selective market environment, French biotech and medtech companies continue to secure significant funding, particularly when addressing major medical needs with robust clinical evidence. In 2025, several biotechs and medtech firms have attracted strong investor interest. For example, Adcytherix, a biotech specializing in antibody-drug conjugates, completed a €105 million funding round – the largest biotech raise in France this year.
