Deslog, an international group specialising in high value-added logistics services, is continuing to expand. It has just acquired Atlantique Transport & Offshore Services (A.T.O.S), a shipping brokerage company. AURIS Finance, a consultancy specialising in mergers and acquisitions, gives you its analysis.
By acquiring Atlantique Transports & Offshore Services (A.T.O.S), Deslog has entered the maritime sector. This acquisition marks a new stage in Deslog’s diversification strategy. Based in Téteghem-Coudekerque-Village near Dunkirk in northern France, A.T.O.S specialises in high-value logistics services, including public goods transport, warehousing (dry and temperature-controlled), timber trading and processing, subcontracting, and external logistics. It primarily operates on behalf of industrial SMEs with complex logistics and international flow management requirements.
A global player
Deslog has historically focused on overland logistics and distribution, but is now integrating sea transport to become a global player in the supply chain market. The group comprises ten subsidiaries, two of which operate internationally, enabling Deslog to offer its customers maritime consignment services and customs management for imports and exports. Integrating Atlantique Transport & Offshore Services, a shipbroking company, will allow Deslog to support its customers throughout the logistics chain, from shipment to final delivery. In 2024, A.T.O.S., a company specialising in chartering ships from Africa and the Middle East to Europe for the transport of deactivated nuclear products, achieved a turnover of €10 million.
Strong growth
Over the past three years, Deslog has significantly increased its sales, reaching €120 million in 2023 compared to €85 million three years earlier. This growth has been driven by acquisitions in particular. In late 2024, Deslog acquired TRA (Transports Routiers d’Alsace) and TRA Europe, two road haulage companies employing a total of 63 people and operating 41 vehicles. The group also expanded internationally with the acquisition of the British logistics company NFS 360 Connect and the Dutch company Leijten Transport. These acquisitions are expected to be fully integrated into the 2025 financial year. Consequently, the group is targeting sales of €160 million by 2025.
Multimodal transport
In an increasingly demanding regulatory and environmental context, characterised by the need to reduce carbon emissions and instability in supply chains, shipping companies are expanding their range of services. Maritime transport is becoming a much sought-after alternative for companies looking to optimise and secure their international flows. In acquiring A.T.O.S, Deslog has thus strengthened its position in the maritime sector.
