AURIS Finance advised the Isigny Sainte-Mère Cooperative in its acquisition of La Maison du Biscuit, a renowned artisanal biscuit manufacturer based in the Cotentin region. This transaction represents a significant step in the Cooperative’s strategic development, strengthening its regional roots while diversifying its range of premium gourmet products.
A family-owned business spanning five generations, La Maison du Biscuit has become a key player in Normandie. Founded in 1903, the company established itself in Sortosville-en-Beaumont to meet growing demand. It now attracts over 500,000 visitors annually, making it the second most visited tourist site in the Manche department, after Mont-Saint-Michel. The company is known for its artisanal production model, focused on product quality and freshness, and for its distinctive boutique, which features an immersive reconstruction of an old-fashioned commercial street: La Rue des Docteurs Burnouf. Kévin Burnouf, CEO of La Maison du Biscuit, welcomed the transaction: “This partnership with Isigny Sainte-Mère is a real opportunity for our company. Joining forces with the Norman Cooperative will ensure the long-term, high-quality growth of our biscuit business.”
Founded in 1909, the Isigny Sainte-Mère Cooperative is known for its premium dairy products, including butter, cream, and cheese. The integration of La Maison du Biscuit aligns with the Cooperative’s long-standing mission: to promote regional craftsmanship while upholding values of authenticity and quality.
Gérald Andriot, CEO of the Cooperative, stated: “The acquisition of this remarkable company is an exceptional opportunity. We are committed to preserving the soul and identity of La Maison du Biscuit, just as we did with Les Caramels d’Isigny.”
Arnaud Fossey, President of Isigny Sainte-Mère, added: “La Maison du Biscuit is an institution in the Manche region. We are proud to welcome it into our Cooperative. Our priorities remain quality, customer service, and the promotion of time-honoured know-how.”
This transaction aims to support La Maison du Biscuit in its growth, particularly internationally, while preserving its operational independence and artisanal production methods. The deal will also create strong synergies between the Cooperative’s traditional products, including Isigny caramels, and La Maison du Biscuit’s gourmet offerings, to deliver a complementary, premium, and locally rooted product range.
AURIS Finance is proud to have advised the Isigny Sainte-Mère teams on this milestone transaction. This deal reflects our continued commitment to supporting players in the agri-food industry as they build robust and sustainable growth strategies rooted in regional excellence.
