The traditional biscuit factory Isidore Penven, manufacturer of traditional Breton biscuits, galettes and cakes founded in 1890, has been sold to the group Le Comptoir des Flandres, manufacturer of waffles and confectionery for over a hundred years, notably under the La Dunkerquoise, Eugène Blond and Afchain brands.
The Chancerelle company (famous for its Connétable sardines) wanted the transfer of the Isidore Penven biscuit factory to satisfy a number of concerns: to ensure the continuity of proven know-how, and to carry on the commercial success and reputation of a recognised and appreciated brand.
As part of its mandate to assist Chancerelle in its sale, Auris Finance was able to attract several takeover bids. The transaction between these two companies was made possible by the quality of the project proposed by Le Comptoir des Flandres.
This acquisition has enabled the Comptoir des Flandres Group to strengthen its position as a leading biscuit manufacturer by adding a new regional speciality to its range and boosting its national presence.
Olivier KOPP, an agri-food expert at Auris Finance, advised the Chancerelle shareholders on this transaction.
